Do you prefer play kitchens from kidkraft or pottery barn?

I love the retro and farmhouse ones at pottery barn but everything would cost $800. I also like the kidkraft espresso. DD birthday is at the end of this month so I need to make a decision fast.

I don't know about either, but my kids have loved the IKEA one we got for $99. They also have fruits, vegetables, pots and pans and cooking utensils to go with it. The Melissa and Doug wooden pantry food is also nice.

We have the Kidkraft Espresso one and love it. But I would never in a million years spend $800 on a play kitchen

We have the KidKraft and it's great. Took forever to assemble though - my DH is pretty handy and it was definitely 2+ hours. I loved the look of the PB ones, but didn't think it was worth the added expense. Don't think you can go wrong either way.

Adults love the wood the kids love the plastic electronics crap

My kids have had this one for a long time (a previous model, but just about the same.) They always play with it and it still looks like new.

We bough it because the PBK kitchens were so expensive and because this one takes so little space since it was a corner kitchen and has so many features.

I like the plastic ones because when your kid knocks it over ---and trust me it will get knocked over --- the plastic one won't break and it won't hurt them.

My kid nearly required stitches in his head when a PB kitchen was knocked over on him in the store.

Our kidkraft one completely feel apart -- and was super hard to put together. Wish we had gotten the Ikea one!

Anyone have the PB one?

We just bought the PB retro kitchen and love it. DS (2) loves it as well! I don't have any others to compare it to, but we love ours. It's really substantial and looks great too.

We have a PBK one. It is very cute and the toy my kids use the most.

I have the PB retro red kitchen. Purchased it used on Craigslist, but it was in excellent condition. My kids love it and it works with my decor. The quality is excellent. The reviews on Amazon and other sites made me question the quality of the Kidkraft stuff, and I've heard that assembly is a beast.

This. We got the espresso kitchen for christmas and love it. But it did take us forever to put it together. I really wanted a PB kitchen but there was no way I could justify the $1000 not matter how incredibly awesome. If you have the money to burn I'd say go with the PB one. Otherwise I think the KidKraft is nice for the money and DD loves it.

I love the idea of supporting a small family business, right here in the US.
