Need "reading" chair for 8 yr old DS smallish bedroom

Finally re-doing his room, gave away the nursery glider but I can't find any good bedroom chair --mostly for me or DH-- when we read together at night.

We just lie on the bed!

That's what we do when we're reading the same book. But now we're reading our own books and I'm more comfortable in a chair. The nursery glider was perfect!

If you are reading separate books, why do you need to be in his room? Why not read in a different room?

Read in the living room. As he gets older, the chair will take up too much space and become a dumping ground for other stuff.

Dd has a couch in her room, but we both end up on her bed if I read in her room.

Not the OP, but my newly-independent reader loves reading with me and I'm happy to model reading. She also still wants the bedtime closeness that we had when we read together.

OP, I still lie down in her bed.

Sorry, I meant why do they need to be in HIS room? Why not hers? Or the living room? I read with my kids all the time but rarely in their rooms anymore.

This is the home improvement forum, right? Any suggestions for where to find a comfy, quality but not crazy expensive, not huge, but not kid-sized chair suitable for a kid-to-teen bedroom? Thanks!

DS got a bungee chair at Sports Authority--paid for it with his own money because we were skeptical about it--and it's actually really comfortable!

I have this chair in my (adult) bedroom and really like it. It is sufficiently roomy for me to sit cross-legged.

It is not the highest quality chair, but is in a room where it gets pretty light use.

We have a huge bean bag in my 4 year old son's room. Very comfy and we can all sit and read on it. We got it from ultimatesack.com

They have different models to choose from. We've had it for almost 3 years and it still is comfortable and supportive.

I've always wanted to get one of these for my kids. Haven't yet! They have a soft lambswool cover available as well.
