our mattress is a good 10 years old and time to upgrade. Any recommendations of brands/styles you love? I just need mattress, not boxspring. Thanks! |
We got a memory foam one from overstock. it was delivered in a timely fashion, aired out for a night, and done. We use it without a boxspring. So comfy. No clue what the brand is but if you want memory foam, groupon/living social always have deals on them. |

We got a natural latex mattress from Foam Sweet Foam. Best purchase of my life. |
Don't buy the cheap memory foam, trust me. We just replaced one (Novaform/Sleep Science brand) that we bought 4 years ago because it has lumps and dips and is just awful. Memory foam shouldn't do that but the cheap stuff definitely does.
Our new mattress is one of the Sealy hybrid ones - it has both coils and memory foam. |
Bump. We're in the market and I'm overwhelmed. We've only had our current mattress for 2 years but it was bust. Lumpy dumpy and just not right. It doesn't help that husband is 6'7 and 250lbs. We spent about 2k on it.
Can anyone recommend a good mattress for larger/taller/heavier folks? I'm of normal people size LOL but the combination is not working out. Price is generally not an issue but I really don't want to spend 6000 on a mattress. That said, we keep hearing about the sleep number beds and I hear they are really expensive. Not a big fan of the all foam due to the heat they seem to emanate. I like it fairly cool/almost cold in room and on bed. Can someone please please recommend a good mattress. I did read mattressunderground but again, overwhelmed at all the options. We both need firm and I hate squishy soft tops. |
Stay away from Sterns & Foster they are the worst. Sorry, no recommendations got a good one ![]() |
