A love note to Dr. Bronner's.

Dr. Bronner, you long-winded nut! Your soap, for so long stigmatized with all its hippy connotations, is the only thing I can use without either drying out, breaking out, or getting a rash. Plus, you make such fabulous bathroom reading.

Seriously, I've got really sensitive skin and have tried everything, and I recently went back to the tried and true bottle of hippy soap from my youth.

which do you use?

my skin is really sensitive, prone to breakouts and also dries out...

might be worth a try!

I'm using good old peppermint, but this can be a bit much if you aren't ready for it (youch! tingly!). I've also used almond and lavendar and liked both.

I discovered Bronner's again as an adult at the beach in my MIL's outdoor shower. That awesome peppermint smell brought back so many memoriues of childhood.... mmmmhhhhhh. I just love it. You are right its great stuff. Not too drying, not too goopy, not too anything, just perfect! Newbies should not start with the peppermint though (and my one and only) as that tingle freaks some people out like my young children the first time they tried it!

Where can you buy it?

Whole Foods carries it, maybe Trader joe's, any co-op or healthfood store.

Even Target had it these days - at least the one out on Rt. 50 near 7 corners. Its on the bottom shelf of the "fancier cosmetic/skin care isle." Whole Foods always has it, too.
