Open house- what to wear

Anonymous
What do people wear to a private school open house? Just curious how dressy people get. I'm in the preschool world right now where moms wear yoga pants and such and have no clue.

Business casual is fine. Just stay middle of the road. Don't be remembered as the parent who way underdressed or way overdressed.

So a casual dress with flat boots and a nice coat OR black skinny pants tucked into boots and a dress shirt? We have a bday party right before hand and I won't have time to change.

If it's GDS, wear what you want to wear. It's not a place where you are judged by your clothes.

Really depends on the school, but in doubt, go middle of the road.

Just make sure to look like you are taking it seriously.

Yes u know it's silly to ask but ever since I became a SAHM I don't know how to dress myself for life situations.

Just don't show up in exercise clothes. My friend took her son for his playdate in her gym clothes. She didn't know better and was really embarrassed. And her son didn't get in!

Dress like you are going to book club or dinner/brunch with friends.

It is not a work day, but you are making a 1st impression on his teachers and parents of classmates.

I agree, at least go middle of the road. You won't feel out of place and wish you had dressed nicer....I agree with the person who said to dress like you're taking it seriously.
