Disney World: which parks?

Anonymous
We are going to Disney World for the first time with our kids who are 8 and 10. We have three days in the parks and we are trying to decide how to allocate them. We've narrowed it down to one day each at MK, Epcot, and DHS or two days at MK and one at Epcot.

Neither child is interested in Star Wars or princesses. They also don't like big roller coasters.

When you say "big rollercoasters" are you including all Thrill Rides (Im thinking specifically of Tower of Terror--which is a "free fall"type ride that also has a sort of creepy/scary theme)

If so, there might not be much for them at Hollywood Studios. Instead of spending a full day there, you might want to go first thing in the morning (especially if it is day where they have the extra magic hour in the morning) and ride on Toy Story Mania and maybe check out a few other things. Then it's an easy boat ride over to Epcot where you can spend the rest of the day.

2 days MK and 1 day Epcot. HS is pretty slim pickings if you don't care about Frozen, Star Wars and thrill rides.

They don't like any thrill rides. The 8 year old would be interrsted in Frozen but not other princesses.

Just got back. My kids love Star Wars so we did DHS...I wouldn't do it again. It's pretty lame.

If I were you I'd do 2 MK, 1 EC or 1 MK, 1 EC, 1 Animal Kingdom. There is a Frozen meet & Greet in the MK.

13:03 again. I also thought that Toy Story Ride was a complete and utter letdown. It was not really all that much fun! When we were there, we used a Fast Pass (good, bc there was a 90 minute wait) and I was so underwhelmed by the ride. You won't miss much if you skip it altogether.

Also - my 10, 6, and 3 LOVED Epcot - as did we. Some of the very best things we did were there. They adored the countries and finding the passport stamps, we loved all the food and performers in the streets, and some of the other stuff - Soarin', Test Track, etc. was lots of fun, too.

Agree with the PPs -- if your kids aren't into Star Wars or big roller coasters, there might not be much for them at Hollywood Studios.

I agree with the previous poster's recommendation of one day each at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. You could also easily spend 2 days at Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Epcot.

I disagree with all the people saying HS isn't worth it. No, it's not heavy on rides but it has some fun shows and the fireworks show - Fantasmic is phenomenal.

Magic and animal kingdom. Not a lot at the other two.

Really? You don't think kids that age would be into Epcot?

I think Epcot is overlooked. Soarin', Turtle Talk with Crush, Test Track and especially the Phineas and Ferb scavenger hunt are all great.

My kids love Epcot. They love coloring in all the countries and the scavenger hunt.

What about getting park hopper tickets and doing a 1/2 day at DHS and a 1/2 day at Animal Kingdom? You could get taste for each, but just hit the highlights and skip the rest.

My kids did that scavenger hunt when it was Kim Possible themed. They could spend all day on it. They loved it that much.

My kid loved Epcot at 10. We went back for a second day so he could see some things he noticed on the way out. We found some things at Animal Kingdom, but I would think Epcot and MK.

If we went back and only had one day I think it would be spent at Epcot.
