What do these scores mean for my child TAG test, please help!

So i am disappointed my child did not get accepted into TAG however, i am going to keep pushing for her. However, can someone tell me what the raw score means. It says Raw Score 51/60. Then it says National Percentile 87. Was my child that far off from passing the test.

Typically TAG is designated for the top 2-5% (95 -98th percentile and above) depending on the area and how selective they want to be.

I have always been confused on pg county TAG. I have never gotten responses from them on anything. Maybe there is a raw score cut off. Also when my daughter tested the letter was vague. Good luck in pg county schools.

Are those the scores on the OLSAT or the third grade achievement scores? What grade? TAG identification in PGCPS is determined by both testing, grades, and teacher recommendation

From my experience, OLSAT scores in the 8 and 9 stanines are paired with grades and recommendations. There used to be some sort of rubric teachers would fill out and the cumulative number of points would determine TAG identification. There should more than one su test score. If a kid scores extremely high on the OLSAT but don't have great grades, they still qualify and vice versa.

It seems your scores qualify. Ask the TAG office. My daughter had same situation last year. Passed test, good grades and she was not accepted due to a teacher recommendation. I was very upset. Good luck.
