How much money would in a trust fund do you consider "rich"?
For me, over $500K, that's if its going to one person. I am sure many on here will say over $1M.
Large = 20$MM or more.
$5M
1 m
anything over 5 mill because after that Gift Taxes are involved. But really 1million +
Context, OP?
Well, $1M/yearly is a nice amount to live on. So maybe $25 M in the trust?
Let's just assume gift taxes are taken care of. In any case if I'm beneficiary (and in the spirit of this thread, I want to be!) gift taxes are not my problem. |
Large to me means being able to live off the interest without touching the principal. So it is going to vary depending on a person's lifestyle. I use 4% return so it would be pretty low risk, and to me anything over $5M would be enough to live on.
By definition a trust fund is large for most of us!
|
$20M would be large
|
Large 40 mill plus. After about 10 million you can live off returns...
5M - you can live off the interest
I would think at least $5M and probably over $10M.
