With our current work schedules, we will be able to do either morning SACC ( for about an hour) or do 1 hour ASA (after school academy). Are there parents who have used either willing to share their positive/negative experiences?
Anyone?
What is the ASA? Are you referring to the PTA academies at Kent Gardens? If yes, they have some breaks in between the sessions so it's not a reliable system of childcare.
Yes, the PTA run academies. Although there are breaks, how are the sessions. Are there any better than others? Or is SACC better? |
DC does not do SACC so I cannot comment on that. We do a different before and aftercare program. But he loves the academies he has attended so far. We let him choose whatever he is interested in.
This is PP. I have heard that SACC can be a bit chaotic but this is second hand information from another parent.
This is PP again ....clearly I don't have enough to do tonight If I had to make the choice, I would do ASA.

Thank you so much for the feedback, I appreciate it. I know SACC and after school academies can vary domicile from school to school. I was hoping someone had experience with either or both at Kent Gardens,
We do both. SACC is pretty good and it's consistent coverage. If you don't need that, signing up for academies could work, but what is available for particular days will vary by age groups and May or may not be ones that interest your child. You seem confused about how the academies work maybe...they are all different so you can't really review them generally. Some are taught by teachers at KG and they bring in outside vendors for others. Go to the KG PTA website and you can probably see the latest catalogue to get an idea.
is there a wait list for before care SACC? Maybe that would be deciding factor.
You can't really plan child care around an ASA. It's more like an hour here and there. But maybe check out Monday Karate - the teacher is great and runs it to 5pm and usually has extra sessions.
