| Any recommendations for where to ski over MLK Day weekend? Thinking about a day trip only. We did Whitetail last year and the lift lines were so long it sucked. |
|
We used to fly to Colorado and go to Keystone for MLK Weekend. It helped that our kids had Tuesday off too for a teacher workday, so we flew out Friday night, came back Wednesday, requiring just one day out of school.
By Tuesday, their "group lessons" consisted only of the two of them. |
| Lines are going to be long everywhere on a holiday weekend. |
MLK is a holiday? Not every school district in the US gives kids this day off |
Most do. Outside Arizona, name one public that does not? |

If you only want to go for a day go on Sunday or Monday rather than Saturday. They are typically less crowded.
But really there isn't much option on holiday weekends. We've been to Snowshoe, to Colorado and to Canada for MLK or Pres Day and they are all crowded. |
My hometown public school district in WI does not have off on MLK Day. |

LOL--GMTA!!! |
Why are they so racist there? |
I think OP is talking Mid-atlantic local skiing, but even so, the huge resorts out west are going to be crowded. OP - any weekend after Christmas is going to be tough. MAYBE Superbowl Sunday the lines might be manageable, but there are enough of us season pass/dedicated skiiers in this area to still make the trip and ski. |
