The Circle - Dave Eggars. How close are we?

I recently read The Circle - probably based on a recommendation here. I flew threw it - liked the concept at the beginning but ended up being really surprised that there was just so little redeeming about the protaganist. I kept expecting her to come around.

Anyhow, what I've been thinking about is all the police-involved shootings and the recommendations for police to wear body cameras. Feels like we are getting really close to that book. Just kind of freaks me out to think about. Anyone else?

I hated this book. I'm a big Dave Eggars fan and I thought it was so sloppily written and plotted.

That said ... I do think some things are close to what he said. All the social media stuff ...

+1. I'm not familiar with his work but I also thought it was a horrible book. Coolish concept but horrible book. I read a lot of sci-fi.

I think we are heading there. I know few people who can't sleep without their cell phone next to them, and checking in on the Facebook like maniacs.
