Results from the 30-Day Shred DVD?

Anonymous
Hi, I bought this DVD (by Jillian Michaels, the trainer from The Biggest Loser) online for $8.49.
Anyone used this and gotten good results? I still have the baby pooch stomach and 15 extra pounds, 8 months after giving birth to DD2.
It's only 20 min/day! I'm hopeful.

I'm doing all three workouts every day and am noticing some results.

Yesterday was day 10 for my husband and me. Today we start level 2. It's a good workout, not a great one. But hey, it's only 20 minutes and we are sticking with it. We do it right before dinner while the kids cheer/laugh at us. My legs, butt and arms have been sore but I'm ready for a new workout. I was able to move up from 3 lb weights to 5 lb weights. I don't have any weight to lose, just desperately need muscle tone. My husband has weight to lose and I think the Shred is only a baby step in the right direction. He is eating slightly better but not good enough. I like the idea of doing multiple levels each day. I bet if we did level 1 and 2 each day, we'd see a big improvement. I'll try to convince him to do that this week.

Thanks for the response PP! Keep up the good work. I have 15lbs that I can't shake. I wish I was as motivated as you and your husband!

Well, my husband and I moved up to Level 2 yesterday... OMG, it is a KILLER workout. I am so sore that I woke up before sunrise needing water and an ibuprofen. I take back my statement that the workout is good but not great - it is great. I had burned out on Level 1, I guess. But Level 2 is certainly whipping me. I'm in awe of the poster who said she is doing multiple levels a day. I can only dream of doing that. One downside of Level 2 is there is more jumping around and we need more space. We have to move furniture out. And the kids can't be in the room with us or we might knock them over. One more little thing is Jillian likes to cuss once or twice in each workout. My kids haven't said anything yet. But it's all worth it. Great workout.

I am the poster that is doing all three workouts a day. I always exercise for an hour, so it's an hour.

But yes, it is exhausting. Hardest workout I've ever done.

I actually think that Level II is harder than Level III. Level III has a couple more advanced plyometric movements, but Level II has them also, and the strength and cardio work is better. If you can make the transition to Level II, you'll find you can get through Level III. The hardest part of Level II for me are the squat thrusts in plank pose. I couldn't do them at first, but now I can. I still hate them. The hardest part of Level III is the mountain climbers. And the hardest part of Level I is -- believe it or not -- THE PUSH-UPS!

To the PP who is in awe of me for doing the three levels in one session: I am in awe of you for having no weight to lose. This video is going to tone you up and have you looking fab in no time.

Oooh. I just bought this DVD and am formerly fit trying to fight my back from a big weight gain -- thank you stressful job and asshole boss and completely out of whack priorities. Will be starting with level 1 either in the morning or afternoon in addition to long walks with doggie on the flipside. Am thinking long walk with doggie in the early morning and me and Jillian after work. Wish me luck

I'm the OP--still on L1, but I think I'll do L2 tomorrow. I have missed a couple of days but have done it almost every day for 1.5 weeks. I have also done online weight watchers and am losing weight and feeling a lot stronger. I went to a very hard aerobics class the other day and felt much more energetic. Thanks, Jillian!

Let's keep the thread going to cheer each other on!

Just did Level 1 on On Demand and am going to buy the DVD. Wow. This workout is great and I expect some serious toned muscles in a few weeks.

I purchased the DVD in the fall and was seeing some results - but then kids got sick, holidays came etc etc.

You guys inspired me to get my but back in gear.

I started again last night - and I am feeling it this morning - but it is that good feeling of knowing you are moving in the right direction.
