Some schools mail early so you get them on the day they said or day before, some don't mail until they say (so they will be mailed probably Saturday with Monday or Tuesday receipt). Last year the date was a Saturday.

Don't remember any confetti in ours, just happy delirium with the accept (from our #2 choice; can't have everything!). And, can I just say? I could go my whole life without ever getting another letter that says how pleased they are to offer my DC a spot on the waiting list!!!

I am not sure but I think it will be sometime before Wednesday. We applies for 4 schools and two are having welcome receptions on Wednesday.

For a lot of schools the notification date is either March 6 or March 13. I don't know if that is the date letters are mailed or if it's the date that they expect you to receive them.

What schools say March 1?

Was wondering the same thing -- the overwhelming, enormous majority of schools have acceptance dates after March 1.

What happens on March 1?

Someone mentioned welcome receptions. Please do reveal when Beauvoir, Sidwell, Maret, and GDS are having these welcome receptions.

My recollection is that DC#1 (now in 1st grade) received fat envelope and thin envelope (from different schools) on the same day, BEFORE they were "due" to us. (DC#2 had sibling notification, so different timeline.)

DH and I opened the envelopes together over the phone (we knew what they were going to say...) and then we all met-up at the playground of the new school. There were several other newly admitted families there, so we had our own spontaneous "new families" event, which set the tone for the wonderful experience we are having at this school.

Was it like college? The fat envelopes meant you were accepted and the thin ones said you weren't?

All of the Baltimore area schools say March 1st. Not sure what the DC schools dates are.

Be careful. We once had a thin envelope with an admissions offer. The fat one came after you replied with a check.
