Ever search online so much for something that you end up with such a specific vision that doesn't exist? Ugh - if you love to scour the web for these things, here's the deal:
- curtains for a little girls room - not too "little girl" but not too formal - room darkening - grommet top - dark purple - floor to ceiling and very wide - subtle tone on tone type design would be nice (this is what I'm having a hard time finding - they're all solid color and boring or TOO busy looking) - As inexpensive as possible, whatever that means. I'm not looking to spend hundreds. This is the closest I've come so far, but I'd like even a little more pattern. http://www.jcpenney.com/window/clearance/curtains-drapes/studio-luna-grommet-top-lined-blackout-curtain-panel/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002280141&catId=cat100260226&deptId=dept20022800026&topDim=Curtain+Length&topDimvalue=108+inch&dimCombo=Curtain+Length|Color|Features|&dimComboVal=108+inch|purple|blackout|¤tDim=Features¤tDimVal=blackout&_dyncharset=UTF-8&colorizedImg=DP1210201420360657C.tif&urlState=/window/shop-/curtains-drapes/purple/blackout/_/N-1noxaaZ1z13l8aZ146Z1z13za2/cat.jump?cm_re=S3-_-DIM-_-108length |

You could add blinds if you needed more control of light filtration. |
Not grommet but has a pattern:

Thanks, PP - I really like that overstock one. I have purple stuck in my head though - I've been googling like crazy, but can't seem to find it. Anyone have good googling skills and want to find it for me in a dark plum type purple, grommet top, blackout? It can be a similar pattern if not exact.

What about if you painted the walls a plum purple and used the gray Overstock curtains to brighten it up? I can see it in my head and I think it would work. |
As much as I love the idea, we are renting, so not planning on painting (also why we're on a budget with curtains - doesn't make sense to splurge for something that might not work when we move again). But there's gray in the rug along with purple - sooooo..... hmm.... maybe gray curtains, and some bold purple wall hangings on either side of the curtains to complete the wall somehow. I'm sure there's something pinterest-y that would work, if I can find something not too cheesy... |
I couldnt find curtains I liked either, so I bought fabric in the pattern I liked. I hemmed the edges with that magic tape stuff that you just iron on. I'm not going to be washing these much if it all, so I figured that was fine. Then I used the rings with clips to hang them. Super cheap and only took me an afternoon to do the hemming. |

I assume you want grommets so you don't have to use hangers. These have back straps that create a pleat. We bought these in navy for my sons room and they are awesome! |
Etsy is the best - you can pick the fabric and have the curtains custom made for about the same price as buying at the store. |
