I've been hypothyroid for over 25 years. I had a great Endo who moved away. Anyone have a doctor in the DC area who will do more than read the TSH level in your blood test to caibrate your dosage? My TSH is on the mark and I'm a mess. It was "low" in the summer (indicating I was taking too much) and I was feeling fine. then we lowered my dosage and I'm a mess. I've had my period for over 20 days. My skin is peeling and cracking. My eyes are swelling shut. My GP is sympathetic. Just saw a specialist and he offered nothing. Shouldn't he be testing my T3 and T4? Listening to my symptoms? Anybody have someone who will do this?
I liked Jerald Share in NW DC.

Just be careful and don't blindly trust your new endo. My mom's endo really did a number on her (she's hypothyroid and diabetic and recently completed breast cancer treatment). Her endo switched up her medication regimen and she landed in the ER. Both the ER doc and her primary doc were blown away by the dosages the endo prescribed. So she's sticking with her board certified primary who caters to geriatric patients.
+2. Love him! |
Michael Horwarth ......well regarded and highly rated
Jerrold share in DC seemed very competent, definitely need t3 and t4 tested.
