Infertility Support and Discussion
|
My husband and I are planning on TTC for the first time later this year. I already know that I'd like to deliver with a midwife. But I really dislike being a patient and don't want to have to transfer my medical care if I can help it. I have no idea where to start. Do I find an OBGYN and then switch to a midwife center later on? Can I start at a midwife center? Are OBGYNs in general open to patients not finishing their pregnancies in their care?
Any guidance in these (very) early stages would be appreciated. |
| Midwives can take you all the way through--they often provide well-woman care, as well. They'll do all the standard pregnancy tasks such as confirming the pregnancy, sending you out for ultrasounds and labs, etc. I'd start researching midwives that take your insurance. |
| Thank you! I'm someone who likes to know all the steps before setting out, but I just didn't know where to start this one. |
