It should have come with a folder of recipes and a DVD. I use mine for smoothies.

Op. Oh, I guess I should open the box right? $450 worth of smoothies? Seems excessive if not used for anything else.

It's great for soups and frozen drinks too. We like to cut the peels from limes and oranges, freeze them, and use them (together with tequila, Cointreau, and ice) for margaritas. We also used ours to make powdered sugar from granulated the other day so my daughter could make the frosting she needed to finish her Christmas cookies.
