| The subject line says it all. Amazon has nutribullet Pro 900 for sale for $100 and I'm so tempted. I can't really juice with my vitamix and I don't know if the nutribullet is better for that or if I'm just getting sucked in by the infomercials. Anyone here have both and can advise me? Thanks in advance! |
|
OP, I need more info!! Have been considering a refurb vitamix but the nutrbullet is so much cheaper
i just want to make vegetable smoothies, with kale that gets all the way pureed. why do you want a nutribullet instead of a vitamix? |
| Why can't you juice with your Vitamix? I thought it could turn everything into juice. |
| OP here. I make great smoothies in the vitamix but when I tried a few times to juice, it didn't blend things at all. I put in a little water and then veggies/fruit, and it was a gloppy mess. In the nutribullet infomercials it looks like they're basically using the NB like a juicer and it produces juice, not thick glop. But I'm not sure whether to believe it or not. |
|
Don't believe that part of the infomercials! The Nutribullet will do a worse job than the Vitamix. Neither the Vitamix nor the Nutribullet is a juice extractor, which means that they do not remove the fiber. With a blender, if you want a juice there are three things you can do:
-Use juicy ingredients like grapes. -Add some liquid (water, juice, or milk). -Blend and then strain. (For example, check out this Vitamix carrot juice: http://joyofblending.com/vitamix-carrot-juice-100-undiluted/ ) |
| Nutribullet doesn't juice--you need a juicer. No reason to get a nutribullet if you have a vitamix. Really. |
| If you want a juicer, get a juicer, not a crappier blender. Why does this even need to be said? |
| Are Nutribullet and Vitamix basically the same then? |
|
Nutribullet says it juices but it's really more for smoothies. The few times I tried to juice I ended up with green sludge.
I do love it for smoothies -- great machine. |
| OP, the Vitamix is not a juicer but it will blend better than the Nutribullet. You need to buy a nut milk bag, run the juice through there to get rid of the sludge. Google it. Amazon sells them so does Whole Foods, Moms, etc. Get the larger size one. |
|
Don't buy a nutribullet. The blade rusts quickly and you end up wondering if you've been drinking small amounts of rust! There are lots of posts about this online. Nutribullet IS NOT a juicer.
The Vitamix crushes raspberry seeds. Enough said! |
OP here, thank you everyone!! This is the reality check I needed. I'm kind of a countertop appliance junkie and I knew I really didn't need a NB but they're so cool looking, I was trying to convince myself. You are all the voices of reason that I needed to hear.

| LOL, I'm poster 21:01 and I'm the same. Always looking for ways to get new appliances. For what it's worth, I have had both and my nutribullet is now dead. I also own a juicer that I never use. And I usually start on a green juice fad that lasts about a week starting in Jan. and then making it gets old pretty quick. I never seem to have the veggies that I need or they have gone bad. |
