I need to buy a few more Christmas gifts. At what age do kids start playing with stickers? At what age do they start playing with play dough? |
2 years is good for both. |
My DD did stickers starting around 18m. By 2 she was crazy for them. Playdough is still not as engaging for her, although she is getting there. If you're unsure about the playdough, you can easily cook some with flour and water to try it out. |
But there is no need to buy stickers-- I give her the free return address stickers that I get from charities and she loves them. |
DS is 14 months and loves having someone put a sticker on his clothing but doesn't play with them. He'll walk around pointing out his sticker all day! |
18 months |
18 mo-2yrs. AT 2 yrs my DD loved putting stickers in a little notebook I gave her to make a stickerbook. |
Get your stickers at the dollar store. You will be surprised how quickly they go through them. Try to get one that aren't too intricate as shapes because they are harder to peel off.
Or you can buy reusable sticker books. My son loved the Melissa and Doug ones with the backgrounds. |
I liked stickers as a kid and kept them nicely in a book. However, my kids put stickers on the walls, furniture, etc. I now hate stickers. They always end up in the garbage. The longer you can hold off stickers the better. |
My two year old loves both. Play dough has been since about 20 months. Stickers are new (she just turned two). Another idea for that age (and I remember loving as I got slightly older) is a felt board. |
22 months, 2 weeks and 4 days. |
