So I don't buy this whole premise.

He read off a teleprompter for the SOTU addresses.

He had nothing to do with the legislation that passed. His legislative staff and Senators/Representatives got it done.

He’s been out of it his whole term and whoever he empowered to run the country has failed the country. His administration was abysmal. That’s why the American people fired him and his incompetent VP.

Well let’s see…I was laid off in 2020 when Trump was president due to his complete incompetence.

I have been steadily employed while Biden was in office and my 401k went up.

Not really sure what you are talking about.

The cost of everything has gone up. Housing is unaffordable. Most are poorer because of Biden’s inflation. He also opened out border to millions of illegal immigrants and made of mess on the world stage, especially the Afghanistan withdrawal.

OMG you don't even have recent GOP propaganda to trot out. Your propaganda is so 2021.

and...learn about the actual causes of inflation. And all the ways Trump set up the Afghanistan withdrawal to fail.

So you got laid off during Covid and got a job in 2021 during Covid with a 401K. How did Biden help you get a job ?

Have we had a financial crisis under Biden? no. The last 2 financial crises were due to Republican presidents. Pay attention.

I would argue (and most Americans agree) that having the price of groceries increase 20% during Biden to be a financial crisis. Same with the 22% increase in rent since 2020.

Having to pay 20% more to feed and house a family is a financial crisis.

Well when Trump was President we couldn’t even find essential items.

Biden was cleaning up the covid mess Trump left behind. Inflation was/is global but of course you will only believe what you want to believe.

Good grief.

Covid was global too.

Biden did nothing to "clean up the covid mess." He was lucky to walk into office with a vaccination to lessen the severity.

Biden has been an utter disaster.

Essential items weren't available in 2020 because the Dems insisted on shutting down the economy. Just like they shut down schools.

The media may not have ever reported on the issue directly, but Biden's health status was clear as day. He told strange, pointless stories. He was unsteady on his feet and even given those weird moon boots so he'd stop tripping so much. His schedule was bare. He slurred his words, sometimes hissed them. He smelled people. How could you not see it? Because you didn't want to. So I have a hard time blaming the WH or even the media.

+1
I do blame the WH and the media - but mostly I blame the types of people like many posters here, who gave new meaning to the term 'gaslight'. I remember being called all kinds of names for daring to point out the obvious. And let's not forget how Democrats in general treated Robert Hur after he wrote, Biden was an "elderly man with a poor memory." That statement is and was 100% true, but Democrats were having none of it and accused him of being politically motivated. Really disgusting behavior.

No, he's not.
And you left wing Dems and left wing press have zero credibility now as you slither back under your rocks.

I have to agree.

GOP is the cool growth party.

Obama’s mentor Bill Ayers in whose living room Obama launched his political career bombed the Capitol and Pentagon. Never even went to prison and was a professor at U Chicago. Libs are much more violent and dangerous than MAGA.

I have noticed that they've stopped coming out with repeated, dire warnings of how the greatest security threat to the US is "right wing extremists."

DP. I've noticed this too. And haven't heard much about "Trump = Hitler" these days. Maybe even LWNJs got sick of their own asinine hyperbole.

First, the amount of pearl-clutching about the supposed "insurrection" on 1/6/21 is ridiculous. If the most powerful military the world has ever seen was in danger of being defeated by a few hundred idiots, then our military needs more resources and training. This was a riot perpetrated by some morons. Our government was not in danger of being overthrown, everyone knows that and it's why J6 was not a big factor in many people's votes this year.

Second, it is interesting that when a riot endangers the very important people on Capitol Hill, it suddenly becomes a bad, terrifying thing. But when riots happened across our cities all throughout the summer of 2020, destroying property and endangering lives every night, it was all ok because it only affected the unwashed little people.

People criticizing J6 would have more credibility if they also criticized the summer 2020 riots happening every night. Riots are bad, period. There are not good riots and bad riots.

First of all, NOBODY is defending the 2020 arsonists and looters. They were separate from the BLM marchers/protesters. I know that is inconvenient for you, but it is the truth. You are making sweeping generalizations about nation-wide unrest and comparing it to a very specific event.

It is unfathomable to me that you can watch the footage of officers being beaten with flag poles and crushed in doors, the gallows and the calls to hang Pence…and you can actually say you don’t care, no big deal. Notice how republicans have really tamped down their “party of Blue Lives Matter” BS since then? Yet another catch phrase Trump has robbed them of, along with party of family values, party of small government.

Not sure you read my post. I didn't say I didn't care about J6. I said it was a riot perpetrated by idiots. I also said riots are bad. J6 was bad.

What I actually said was 2 things:
- our government was not going to be overthrown on J6, and everyone knows that
- the riots in summer 2020 were bad too, and I find it interesting that those wailing about J6 have nothing to say about the summer 2020 riots

DP
- you don’t know that, Pence might have caved, and was afraid to get in the car, and it’s irrelevant anyway
- because you’re trying to “whataboutism” and no one is defending any criminal activity anyway, you’re just looking for a fight

There has not been even 1% of the virtual ink on this board spilled over the 2020 riots as there has been about J6. Are people defending the 2020 riots? Possibly not but nobody seems very bothered by them either.

Lots of people remain bothered by them and they continue to influence political thinking. However, the left discusses politics in the retrospective "J6 was bad, scotus shouldn't have overturned Roe" while the right is future focused "let's fix the economy, let's secure the border." So from a right-wing worldview, ruminating over and over about something that occurred over 4 years ago seems bourgeois and indulgent.

OMG, ruminating over the fact that the former POTUS who incited and abetted an attempt to overturn a fair election to keep himself in power and has now been re-elected by an idiotic segment of our populous is bourgeois and indulgent. That is a new low in attempts to deflect on J6. I would LOL but it's just so pathetic and awful.

It is bourgeois and indulgent to focus this much political energy on an event that happened in the past, unless there had been no justice. But, that's not what happened. Those people went to jail and received unusually harsh punishments for their crimes and misdemeanors. Trump was thoroughly investigated by many authorities looking for evidence he committed a crime related to J6. So, action was taken. Yet we are repeatedly told that every other political concern is invalid due to J6. No one can worry about the economy because of J6, nor the border, nor crime. The only valid political concern is something that is over and done with. But, real people have real concerns that you people just dismiss because you're obsessed with an event in the past that can't be changed. It's like the Ds exist inside a PTSD flashback and are totally paralyzed, unable to move forward or even offer a vision od what moving forward would look like.

This is just more BS. The man who fomented an attempt to overturn a fair election has been reelected by voters with short memories who were duped by GOP propaganda. So much of what Trump ran on were lies/based on lies. So not real interested in his ideas for moving forward. His "concepts of a plan" are destructive.

And your disdain for PTSD with that offhand comment when there are people out there really suffering from it are telling. No wonder you are a Trump apologist. Just another MAGA with no brain or heart.

+1
And I firmly believe that a lot of these posts are from paid GOP trolls trying to “firehose” the internet with BS.

Well, yes - of course you do. You are no doubt also a big believer in "Russia Russia Russia!" and fake pee pee tapes. What else is new?

+ a million
Also, why do Ds continue to "whatabout" constantly when the subject of this thread is BIDEN and the gaslighting by Democrats who sought to cover up his cognitive decline?

Have we had a financial crisis under Biden? no. The last 2 financial crises were due to Republican presidents. Pay attention.

I would argue (and most Americans agree) that having the price of groceries increase 20% during Biden to be a financial crisis. Same with the 22% increase in rent since 2020.

Having to pay 20% more to feed and house a family is a financial crisis.

Well when Trump was President we couldn’t even find essential items.

Biden was cleaning up the covid mess Trump left behind. Inflation was/is global but of course you will only believe what you want to believe.

And then it mutated from delta to omicron and Biden was like 'no one could have seen that coming'. Then he screwed up shipping testing kits.

Stellar performance there, donkeys.

Can’t wait until Trump is in office so Dems on this forum can point out in a day basis all the ways Trump exhibits diminishing mental capacity AND his usual batshit crazy behavior. What will he do in his second act? Will he top his previous highlights like his Dear Leader praise-fest cabinet meetings, bizarro televised meeting with Kanye West in the Oval Office, daily televised COVID updates where he suggested “cures” to the medical professionals flanking him, his drawing on maps with a sharpie, or his triumphant return to the White House from Walter Reed when he ripped his mask off in an Evita-like moment?
