I’ve reported you, and I hope others report you. You’re adding no value, disrupting on-topic posting, and being so mean the logical response is something that would get people banned. You’re depending on the fact that the Notre Dame supporter can’t really do anything and that, if the Notre Dame supporter responds with as much force as you deserve, you can laugh in a superior way about having irritated the Notre Dame supporter. You’re a rotten bully. Now you can laugh about having provoked someone else. Ha ha ha. |
UMD was extremely large and bureaucratic. Students range wildly from insanely smart to incredibly stupid. A lot of arrogance/obnoxiousness. There was ALWAYS construction everywhere which got on my nerves. Barely any sense of the community that I was looking forward to. Crappy college town. The education is stellar in some programs (engineering, CS, etc.) and complete dogwater in others. |
Isn't this a pretty on-target summary of any large state university? |
Not even close. Try generalizing another topic where you might a clue. |
Not all large state universities have a crappy college town. While UMD was suggested by college counselors to both our kids (would be OOS), I was relieved when neither expressed interest as I am not a fan of the UMD environs. Good friend moved from UMD to UVA as soon as one of her parents relocated from Prince George's to NoVA, mainly because she preferred Charlottesville over College Park. |
Good Point! If you want to live and work in Cambridge, sure they will know Swathmore. Other parts of the country - not so much. But the elites like to stay together in leftist echo chambers. |
Thank you. I don't know why there is such vitriol here for this school or why such hatred for whomever this booster is. This is going on in other threads as well. Those are nice photos though! |
The poster is over the top, but maybe s/he is irritated that ND boosters feel the need to hijack the thread. |
I think when the school gets attacked, the boosters "hijack." So just stop bashing and maybe they will let your thread be. |
Can you read the title of the thread? It is specifically for posters that don't want to send their kids to a certain school. Start a thread for posters that do want their kids to attend their same college. That will dove this issue. One thread for boosters, one for bashers. Everyone happy now? |
Actually this thread is supposed to be for posters who don’t want I send their kids to THEIR school. It seems that the majority of the statements in this thread are from posters who never attended said college. |
m This is spot on! I hope my kids go elsewhere |
Michigan. Way too big and impersonal for teens, bad weather, and terrible location. Hoping our kids go somewhere smaller, and more convenient and fun to travel to ex. Duke, Vanderbilt, USC, NYU, Boston College, even Georgetown. |
resurrected a seven month old thread for this... |
But that dies not mean the kids are happy, or would want to subject their offspring to the same experience. Kids who get into these schools are often following a script. They tow the line. But many of them (like many adults who look impressive from afar), are miserable, |
