New SUV Purchase - Plan to keep for 10 years

Anonymous
Looking to purchase a new SUV to replace my 10 year old vehicle. I plan on keeping the car for 10 years so looking for something that will last and cost me a fortune in maintenance as the years add up.

I'm thinking we need an option with a 3rd row seat, other then that I have no other desires.

Fire away with your suggestions.

Don't buy anything American if you want it to last 10 years.

Hyundai has a 10-year powertrain warranty.

Is a Mazda CX-9 considered an SUV? That's what we are considering to replace our 9.5 year old Mazda 5.

I have the CX-9 and am on year five. So far, no issues. Has a third row, although if you need that third row every day, may need a minivan.

Our Santa Fe works great for us.

We've had our Durango for 10 years this January. Absolutely no issues and it's taken us through two cross country moves.

I'm on my second Toyota Highlander. Can't recommend them highly enough. Use Costco's car buying program.

Haha. Nine years ago I traded in my '94 Explorer after an accident and bought a new Escape. I plan to keep it for the next five or ten years.

DH has had two Tahoes that have lasted 10 years and required almost no maintenance. My German SUV started costing $$$$ after 5. As long as you stick to an American or Japanese car, you should be fine.

Yeah, no. A Suburban will do 15 with minimal maintenance.

Love ours![u] Great warranty, too. we tested ALL of them a year ago- this was the best out of all. I thought the Subaru Forester was actually great, too, however we wanted a little more space.

I'm on year 9 of my Honda Odyssey. It's just starting to need some work.
