Any members? How do you like it? I was mailing the last of my holiday gifts the other day and noticed they're having a $20 month to month membership sale. I'm thinking of taking advantage as its a lot better and a lot closer than our current membership at the YMCA (especially since I'm the only one still going).

I got the same mailer, only the clubs closest to me are Silver Spring, Bethesda and Rockville. I'm interested to hear how the clubs compare

I am a member there and I love it. It isn't a fancy gym - but it is a good one, tons of decent equipment, good classes and a real sense of community. The $20 offer is a great deal but it comes with some caveats. I think there is a deposit to be paid and I don't think, for that price, you gets towels. But overall a bargain.

I'm a member and agree that the price is a bargain. I'd be interested to know what the caveats are with that membership. North Bethesda is offering that membership too and I could join both for less than what I pay now. The garage is a pain though it's validated.

That's a really good deal. I belonged to the ones at 13th & F and 7th & H, and liked them both very much. The clubs usually weren't super crowded, things were well-maintained and the staff was nice. I'm surprised they can sell the memberships so cheap.

For that price, you may be constrained to just one club or certain off-peak hours - make sure you read the fine print.

it is about to become very crowded when fitness first shutters it's doors in February or march.
you think the timing of that mailer was a coincidence?

I was a member there. Quit and joined Crunch instead. WSC is always charging extra for special classes etc. and teh vibe is tired and old. Crunch has a much more diverse and vibrant atmosphere, and the classes are all included and very good.

How much is your membership at Crunch?

Was a member at WSC in silver spring...good club, everything was kept clean and working. There is towel service. I got the impression it was a little smaller than some of the other WSCs.
