Too much going on right now - so I'm hoping the collective wisdom of DCUM can save me some time. We need use facility insurance for our school - is there an easy way to get this online or which company did you use?
Thanks! |
| The school should already have it. Do you mean a separate policy for the PTA? If so the National PTA assoc has company referrals I believe. |
| Agree with 02:26. |
| Thanks but not for the school - for after hours activities held by independent groups. |
If it's for individual groups outside the school, they have to get separate insurance policies. If it's just for a PTA type organization, the PTA has to be insured and facilities use should be included. Same goes to any other non profit. |
| It would help you you specify what kind of entity you're referring to. |

I've used k and k insurance several times for FCPS for clubs I have run -- you can purchase online.
I think it's kandkinsurance.com. |

OP here. So the holidays derailed me and now I'm getting desperate. We are simply a girls rec basketball team trying to use our DCPS gym to practice. I tried kandkinsurance.com and the quote they gave me was over $500 which for just 8 practices seemed a little crazy.
Anyone in DC know of possible indoor practice space or more affordable insurance options? |
| Is it a DPR league? If so, I believe DPR carries an umbrella policy for all teams. |
| $500 is probably the minimum premium they charge. Call a few other local brokers but it may not make a difference. If you are part of a league, does the league itself carry the insurance? |
