Husband put a stock on and then left town and didn't tell me

We are hard-pressed for space that our toddler can't reach. So, my husband has started to use the crock pot in a storage rack in the basement. I just happened to go down tonight and find that he put a stock on 4 days ago before he left town for 2 weeks. I know we had a chicken in the fridge that we needed to deal with that I saw (to my horror) he deboned. I told him not to do that, because the bones and fat keep the meat moist. But, I saw he did it anyway, and because he didn't mention he put a stock on, I kinda thought he probably threw the bones away.

I have too much to deal with. I just can't want into the basement 4 days after you leave, where we chat constantly via phone and messenger, that you don't bother to tell me you left me with things to deal with while you're gone.

Oh and I just checked. He left his office portable heater on. I figured if he left the crockpot on in the storage room and didn't tell me that he probably left the portable heater on, too. Jackpot. I'm just aghast at how we all view safety differently.

I never thought I'd see someone complain here about a husband who debones chicken and makes stock on the sly. The horror, indeed.

He had a lot on his mind and forgot..

My husband left the house unlocked yesterday morning on his way to work.

People do forget stuff sometimes.

or maybe it is early Alzheimers, which is what I suspect in my house - seriously!

Is he trying to burn down the house with you all in it ? This shit is not funny. AT ALL.

That would piss me off. I don't mess around with the safety stuff. We used to live in a townhouse on a busy street with a lot randoms coming and going and my husband could never remember to lock the doors. Drove me BS crazy and I was terrified when I came home from work that someone was in the house (he worked late). Anyway, feeling safe in my own home is very important to me, so we instituted a policy where he paid me $20 every time he forgot to lock the door. It was the quickest he has ever curbed a behavior. Maybe you could try something like that?

You're batshit crazy.

I would be freaked out about the risk of fire. I would not care about the deboning. This is an odd post.

My wife always leaves perishables out. Drives me BS crazy, too. You're idea is a good one. Except I'll have her give me a BJ every time. And if she starts to put stuff away, I'll sneak down and leave the cream out...then she can put the cream away.

There's one question for you OP that I know everyone wants to ask...
So how was the soup?

my friend put the chinese in the oven (oven off) so his wife could have dinner when she got home. he put it in the oven to keep the dogs from eating it.

She forgot/he forgot.

A week later she came home and turned on the oven to cook dinner.... the chinese and the plastic containers all melted onto the bottom of the oven.

Shit happens when you are busy with kids.
