Which Holiday desserts are you going to make, and which are you going to buy?

Making buche de noel, frosted sugar cookies, cranberry cookies. Buying (for a party) mini Gtown cupcakes. Thinking about making salted caramels.

Depends on whether or not my new range arrives. It was supposed to be here last Thursday...

Buying Buche de Noel, mini mince pies, plum pudding.

Making jelly trifle, gingerbread and a TBD cake for a gift to colleagues.

Have already made Christmas cookies with the children, and a couple of cakes for events.

Care to share your recipe? I thought I'd try one this year.

Thank you! My (British) parents always made mince tarts and every year I plan to but never get around to it.

Claxton Fruitcakes!!!! I am from Georgia and went to college in Statesboro which isn't far from Claxton. Seeing those Fruitcakes in the stores makes me feel like I'm at home. So surprising to see them mentioned on DCUM.

I'm buying (for the first time ever) a Shuman's Jelly cake because the other thread convinced me they are delicious and I like the idea of adopting a local tradition as our own. I may find a buche de Noel too. That's probably as far as I'll go... I'm cooked out by the time Christmas rolls around after all the holiday cooking and baking. I'll make a nice dinner and just do store bought desserts.
