Help! - I need a new sofa in the next 10 days.

Anonymous
I've been shopping online for a new sofa and found a bunch that I like. But in true me fashion I waited too long and now I can't get a sofa delivered by December 27, which is my deadline. I could go the Craigslist route for a temporary fix but would rather just buy new and be done. I'm not spending more than $500 because it will be destroyed in 2 or 3 years (young kids). I live in DC. Any recommendations for good places to look? Willing to drive to northern Virginia and as far north as say, Rockville. Here are a couple samples of sofas I like:

I would really appreciate any leads on good places to shop. Time is fleeting and I can't waste much of it on driving around. Thank you!

Ikea. Most placed you will need to order the sofa, and they won't be able to deliver before the 27th.

I can't see any way you can get a sofa on your deadline other than IKEA. Maybe call a few of the cheaper places along rockville pike and see if they have any sofas in stock? (Like Overstock, or LayZBoy, or Room store or places like that? Blanking on other names of stores).

Thanks. How about scratch and dent places where I can buy what's on the floor? For example, years ago what is now Macy's at PG Plaza was a Hecht's and was the furniture outlet spot for all the Hecht's in the region.

Havertys and Thomasville and Jennifer (they have non-sleepers) are on Rockville Pike. The sofa you like isn't that unusual, so you may be able to get a floor model or one they keep in stock. There's a Bob's on Columbia Pike that might work. The Crate and Barrel outlet store in Old Town sometimes has sofas.

Thank you, PP. I'll call around and ask about in-stock, stock. Good idea. If I have to go the u-haul route and move it myself, I will.

Thanks everyone for these good ideas. I'm kicking myself for getting distracted by other holiday stuff and failing to deal with this when I needed to. Sigh.

Agree to check out the Crate & Barrel outlet store on Old town.

Belfort has a clearance section as well, and I believe some pieces that they keep in stock.

I heart you guys. I'm feeling more hopeful.

I got a sofa at La-Z-Boy and it was delivered a couple days later. As long as it's one they have in stock and not a special order, you can get it easily by the 27th.

Check out Macy's or Hamilton Sleep Sofa - they sell all sorts of non-sleep sofa sofas of well known brands and have great sale prices every week on a selection of sofas.

Bobs? Not the best quality, but $500 isn't a big budget even for an inexpensive sofa.

Definitely Belfort clearance.
