I am generally not a big fan of ads while browsing, but at Jeff's request I have them enabled for this site. I ordered a piece of fitness equipment yesterday, and then was browsing drum this evening and saw an ad in which the item I had purchased was selling from the same retailer for $80 less than I paid yesterday. I contacted the retailer and they are going to refund the difference. Thank you for insisting we keep ads enabled!

I really appreciate your enabling ads for DCUM. Ad impressions are almost our only source of revenue. If all of our users (or even a significant number, really) blocked ads, we would have to close the site down. It's even better that enabling ads worked out for you in this way, though I'm not sure that's the result the advertiser had in mind for the ads. This is a win/win for you and me. Feel free to reply with a plug for the merchant given that they provided very good customer service and deserve to get some recognition and maybe also be a winner.

The merchant was Sears. I think it will probably work out just fine for them because I will probably shop there first the next time I replace an appliance since I have a store credit. Everybody wins!
