DC will be applying for 9th grade entry and his younger sib is interested in also applying out of his current private. He'd be applying for 7th is he did that, which I know is not a big entry year at most schools. Does anyone have any sense of whether schools like it when two siblings apply at once (showing family commitment etc?) Or if it makes things tougher, b/c they may be reluctant to admit either if they can't admit both? Or am I overthinking this?
It could help, hurt or not matter at all. It all depends on the school, what openings they have and how they view your family. You may want to let them know that you would be interested in a spot for either child even if they can't admit both.
OP--- a similar thread went around a few weeks ago. look at 11/23 17:03 pm or search for "two kids"
For highly competitive schools it makes no difference.
