Vitamix worth it

I keep debating whether we will use it much. I want to get it to add vegetables to smoothies. My current blender doesn't do a good job with veg but is fine for fruit. Not a fan of pureed soups. We like hummus but eat a small tub per week.

For those of you who have it, how often do you use it and for what?

Not Vitamix but recently got a Blendtec and LOVE IT! We make smoothies twice a day, I've made hummus, guacamole, frozen desserts and today made bread dough in it. Also used to grind meat.

I've had mine for 3 years and use it almost every morning for smoothies.

Use it for soups, dips, sauces, too, but most often for smoothies.

Totally worth it!
Works great for hummus. It's easy, tastes better than store-bought because you can use fresh lemons and high-quality olive oil, and you can customize it by adding things like peppers. We also make frozen desserts, almond butter, flour from whole grains, and of course super smooth smoothies. We average using it once per day, sometimes multiple times in a day.
We found the best value to be certified refurbished after reading this page: http://joyofblending.com/refurbished-vitamix/

Yes. You won't realize how crappy your blender is until you get a vitamix.

The warranty makes it worth it. We had $30 blenders dying on us every 18 months. We did the math. Seven year warranty from Vitamix.

They are ridiculously expensive but they really do make life easier. We use ours to make smoothies, soup, dips and then as a regular blender. Plus their customer service is amazing. I'm a huge fan. Also, think of it as something you will have for a lifetime. Makes the cost easier to swallow.

Even in the Vitamix, the hummus isn't as good as what you buy.

We love our Vitamix and use it at least once a day. We can't get the same creamy results with any other blender, but boy did we try since we couldn't believe the price at first. Now even DH thinks it was totally worth it, and that is saying something. Do it.
