plan my NYE menu

Dinner for 6. Something fussy and fun to cook, that you wouldn't normally take the time to make.

No other restrictions, but it has to be GOOD.

A friend is bringing live lobsters, so at least one course should include those.

Beef wellington or mini beef wellingtons?

Is it a group cooking affair? Dumplings can be fun and are time consuming, although not difficult. You can do asian style or eastern european - varenyky/pierogis. They can be sweet (cherries are delicious) or savory depending on the rest of the meal.

Yes, group cooking affair. Well, 4 cooking and 2 making drinks. And all are reasonably talented at the assigned roles

similar suggestions, crepes. Buckwheat with ham and gruyere, nutella banana crepes, throw in a rum to flambe.
