Arlington In-Home Day Care or Nanny Share Recommendations?

My husband and I are going to be new parents in June and are looking for child care for our infant around the beginning of September 2009. We began looking at the centers in Arlington, and the prices are sky-high and the waiting lists are a mile long. I've seen a few recommendations for in-home child care, but nothing too recent. Can anyone recommend an in-home day care or is anyone looking for a nanny share around that time in the Arlington area?

We're expecting our first in early August and just started to look into daycare options in Arlington, and from the looks of it we've missed the boat on getting into the daycares of our choice! We would be interested in a nanny share towards the end of the year. Not sure if that time-frame will work for you...? |

check out the separate forum on nanny shares - you should be able to find another family to share with if you are interested.
IMO - i have found that the arlington home based centers are hit or miss... and of course the good ones seemed to be booked and expensive. |

| I live in North Arlington near Falls Church City, and recommend Shoba (703-534-5088) and she gets openings every once in a while. She's cared for my daughter and now my son. She has an opening now, but may also have one in Sept. If my son cooperates, he'll be potty trained so he can enter preschool in Sept! No potty, no preschool!! Good luck finding day care...and in potty training a few years from now! |
