Spotting or very light period 5 weeks after a miscarriage?

I had an 8 week natural miscarriage, and now am on day 36 of the next cycle. The miscarriage bleeding lasted about a week. Ovulation signs were ambiguous so I'm not sure if I ovulated. Since day 31, I've been having light spotting, dark brown and red mixed, with occasional bursts of red. Some cramps and lower back ache, but overall I feel fine. Should I count this as my period, or could it be ovulation bleeding? Or is my period yet to come? Please help, I'm so confused and I just want my normal cycle back!

Following my 9w MMC with a D&C, AF returned 35 days later. Sounds like it might be your period.

Thanks. Was it a normal period? Was it preceded by spotting?

You probably just gave low progrsterone levels this cycle if you ovulated or are having an annovulatoey cycle. Start temping.

It was not my typical AF--I think I had a few days of heavy spotting vs regular AF. I bled a whole bunch after the D&C (about 10 days off and on), so I figured my lining was pretty thin come next AF time.

Thanks everyone. I have temped in the past and found my temperatures all over the place. But I will start using the ovulation Wondfos.

I have one DC2 before having 2 miscarriages, and have always gotten pregnant in less than 4 months, so I am not too concerned about my fertility. Just want to understand what's going on. There was some brown-tinged EWCM before the spotting started, so I was unsure if I'm having ovulation bleeding or period bleeding. It was 10 days late for ovulation, yet still a week early for my period because I have long cycles. Had nothing on Sunday but then another drop of blood last night. I'm hoping that was my period and I won't have more.

Experiencing same now,had my d & c oct28,two weeks later the spotting stop but nov30,started spotting again from light pink to dark red,only at night that i do spot but still spotting till today.Is it normal or abnormal? Because the spotting do come with little cramp,so i tought it was my period.
