Anyone's school doing the Hour of Code?

Particularly elementary schools? Just heard about it this week and slightly annoyed out school is not doing it. Wondered whether others are.

Our elementary school is doing two sessions -- one for the upper grades and one for the lower. But we're a pedestrian public school.

Landon does not do the Hour of Code program but does host a monthly tech club for lower school (3rd - 5th) that is focused on computer programming.

Independent schools are behind on this. I spoke to my child's about this (learning code) four years ago. Nothing.

Norwood 's doing some coding in the middle school. I don't think doing the hour of coding thing but I know a couple grades were doing coding because saw it in a memo. They have an amazing technology integration specialist who brings tech into the classroom instead of making tech a stand alone thing. Her energy, knowledge and enthusiasm is amazing. Yes. Honward Co. ..I think most schools. But..we also have coding classes.

OP here. Yes, I was a little worried about that. My son goes to a very small school, and there's nothing like this in the curriculum. There is a basic coding "club" after school one day a week, but that's it. I feel kids today need to learn the basics of coding, at least. Sort of like I felt my generation needed to learn to type (I'm old). But so many things are dependent on it these days.

Yes, NPS has the whole school involved, even the youngest children.

The Lower School is doing Hour of Code.
