Which wall color to coordinate/complement this rug for a nursery?

Anonymous

Baby girl, 5m old - we are moving and she will have her own room (sleeps in our bedroom currently).

Crib is natural color and dresser is ikea Hemmes white. Bookcase is built in - white. Red oak floor in provincial stain.

Nothing on the crib but the off white sheets.

Suggestions?

I like the rug, how big is it? How much natural light does the room get?

I really like the combination of blue walls and white trim so I might try and copy either the turquoise or the blue from the rug. But if the room doesn't have a lot of natural light, or a lot of trim, that might be too much. In that case yellow or green might work well.

LOVE that rug!

I'd do just one wall in the green and the other walls in white. Pick out colors for accents: a lampshade in the orange, small striped curtains with one of the blues, a rocker with a pillow in the turquoise, a skirt for the crib in the fuchsia.

Benjamin Moore has a great color in a white bright blue called Patriotic White. Never looks gray, green, or violet.

2.5 round… I got it a long time ago to use in my older child's bedroom for a pop of color but ended up not using it. I want to use it now for the baby.

The room gets decent natural light.

Any suggestions of a ice turquoise?

I would go with the shade of an owl on the rug. Maybe a little lighter, but the same shade. It looks like it goes everywhere through the rug and will look good with light furniture

It's hard to tell online. I'd get some chips and bring them home so you can match them up to the rug. Use that as your guide.
