Favorite interior design blogs?

Anonymous
We just bought a new house and need to furnish the whole thing.

I am lacking in taste and preference and desperately need ideas.

Can anyone recommend some design blogs that I could follow just to start to get a sense for things?

Thanks in advance.

houzz.com is one of the best sights for seeing a lot of different homes and different styles. OP, can you give us some idea of what you think you tend to like? Traditional? Country? Modern? Bohemian? etc. That will help us come up with specific blog suggestions.

Houzz.com is the "biggest" site by far. I like http://stylebyemilyhenderson.com for midcentury modern (and a fun read), http://www.designsponge.com for DIY/hipster chic, and http://domino.com for modern (and a little girly).

And yes, I read too many of these. And yet my house still is a disaster. So reading is not enough!

Bump. It’s been a while, anyone have some home decor or design blogs to recommend?

Blogging has decreased over the past several years so this might be why there are not a great number of responses. I think you might do better with just scanning the home and garden section of the bookstore, literally or online. Do you have a general style and ideas about how and if that will fit in your new home? Once you know that, you can hone in on books or magazines and blogs. I would start broadly or share your general style, then we can help recommend.

Browsing pinterest might be a good start.

I bookmarked this post a while ago. It’s a lot of interior design YouTube channels. Better than blogs, for me!

NP. Thanks for posting this one. I like a LOT of his work but I have to say he made a Jersey Shore beach house look dark and dated!
