New Year's Eve in Paris

Hi all,
We're actually going to have babysitters for our young ones over New Year's Eve in Paris. Yay! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for cool venues or restaurants to experience over that evening?! We're not looking for a loud night out at a club But we also don't want a place that is too old or stodgy.

We did this 3 years ago. Had dinner at a restaurant near the sacre coeur and bought a bottle of champagne. Ended up meeting an American couple at the table next to us and close to midnight we headed to an overlook and watched the lights of the Eiffel Tower at midnight. Drank champagne in the square at the top until 2 bottles were empty and then headed inside a restaurant and drank with the other couple until close.

There had been a private party there earlier and they left a bunch of silly things (like these shooter things that blew out confetti balls when you blew through them). We ended up getting into a confetti war with a group of Russians who didn't speak English or French and we never even said a word to each other.
