When do you toss the Thanksgiving Day leftovers that are still in the fridge?
We froze a couple things. The only thing left at this point is stuffing which I will probably toss by Tuesday.

When they wave at me when I open the door, or try to crawl out on their own.
|
Monday. 4 days is my limit.
Today. I froze the turkey already and will use in enchiladas etc but the rest goes today.
Wednesday. I keep things 6 days.
I don't. I froze a lot yesterday. We should finish what is left unfrozen (soup and cranberry sauce) by Wednesday.
Wednesday, but I will likely freeze whatever turkey and gravy (excellent soup starter!) is left by then.
Today but we didn't have much left. Mostly breads, pie etc.
5 days is my time limit. If it's not eaten by then it won't get eaten.
I froze most of the turkey on Thursday and I just finished the last of the potato filling, limas and Brussels! (No thanks to DH who gave up on leftovers by Saturday.) Had they not been finished today, I would've tossed them.

Right after TG dinner.
Toss it day of thanksgiving, after dinner. I hate when people cook too much. Cook enough for the people coming and seconds/one take home plate. My taste buds need variety, not thanksgiving dinner for a week straight.
|
Wednesday, except for the cranberry sauce. I only have a few leftovers remaining at this point:
- One small tupperware of turkey, which we'll eat tomorrow night made into turkey sandwiches on dinner rolls - Stuffing, which I'm planning to eat tonight with a fried egg on top. The last of the stuffing will probably be tossed after that, as nobody else in my family eats it. - Cranberry sauce, which lasts forever in the fridge. We'll use it up by this weekend, or toss it then. - Two slices of pecan pie. They'll be gone tonight. I never throw away pie. I usually set an outside limit of 6 days for leftovers. If it isn't used by then, it gets tossed. |
As of tonight everything is eaten! Will make stick from the carcass tomortow.
