Can I do anything exciting with tinned kippers??

DH bought a bunch of cans of kippers, for some bizarre unknown reason, and they have been hanging around the pantry for a while now. Is there anything exciting that I can do with them? Nobody seems eager to just break open a tin and dig in!

Throw them onto a salad. Maybe a variant of salad nicoise, with greens, potatoes, hard boiled eggs, haricots verts, and a mustard vinaigrette?

Put them out and watch the squirrels have a feast?

Yum! I have most of this in the fridge left over from thanksgiving. I can round up some tuna and I have some olives. Awesome dinner idea!
