West elm quality . Your experience with them?

I just ordered a bedroom set, office set and some entry way furniture. Now I'm completely rethinking it since I haven't really heard anything good or bad about them. Plus shipping was close to $900 and it's just delivered by ups and the customer service said " they leave it on your doorstep"

We bought new bedroom furniture from them this year. We love it. It's as nice or nicer than the more expensive Room and Board set we were replacing.

We have a dining room table, sideboard and bed from them. So far, so good!
Although nothing was delivered via UPS and left on the door step. Everything was delivered via a delivery service and we had to schedule a time with them for the delivery.

I have several bed frames, a parsons desk, dining room chairs, 2 bedside tables and some lamps.

The bed frames are very sturdy, the night stands were very low and rickety so my husband retrofitted them and they are better (he is very handy), the dining chairs are metal and leather and are very sturdy, the parsons desk can get a little wobbly.
I've had items delivered and brought in (white glove delivery) or picked it up at the store, never had is just dropped via UPS). Check it very carefully and report any damage, I've had stuff that was damaged. Their shipping is outrageously expensive especially for what it is, especially for the fact that you have to put it together yourself. That said there are several pieces that I just really liked the look of, so I just put up with that.

The room and board furniture I have is much better quality and the shipping is like $250 and it can be up to a truck load and they carry it in and install it for you.

OP here. I'm wondering if the customer service rep just gave me the wrong info. For pay nearly $900 in shipping charges I expected - well not ups for furniture.

I would call them and confirm. We had a bed frame/headboard delivered last month and they delivered it and assembled. I can't imagine they leave it at the doorstep.
