This year for Thanksgiving we are going to see my husband's grandmother, who is Puerto Rican. I am supposed to bring a dessert, but just found out they're not doing "traditional" turkey, stuffing, etc instead they'll be serving Puerto Rican dishes. Any ideas for a dessert that can travel well on the two hour drive that would go well with Caribbean dishes? I thought about making flan but I'm worried that it won't travel well.
Thanks for your suggestions! |

My husband is Puerto Rican, but they still have Turkey & Stuffing. Everything else is traditional PR food.
I think flan will travel fine if you don't turn it over until you get there. Another good, make ahead dessert is guava turnovers. I'm sure they call them something else. Let me look for a recipe. Rum cake is a safe bet too. |

These are actually Brazilian, but are easy to make and an excellent treat that might go well with the fare.

I'm sure his family will already have the coquito covered. |
