What do you eat Friday & Saturday?

Besides Thanksgiving leftovers, of course.

We're planning meals for the entire weekend. I'm usually ready for something a little lighter by Friday, maybe seafood?? What do you guys fix in the day or two immediately after Thanksgiving? Creative ways to reuse leftovers without the kids complaining that they're tired of turkey?

We leave tomorrow for Mexico, so we eat just ... regular food you find there.

Very helpful answer. Thanks for your contribution.

Cut it up and freeze it. Then eat whatever you like for variety.

Oh hey humblebrag that's not so humble. What a weird comment. Because everybody will be in Mexico Friday and Saturday ugh.

Op try making turkey calzones or a turkey Potpie ( can use the leftover turkey and veggies and add some peas in you want)

Also sometimes we go legit simple and have good ol fashioned grilled cheese and tomato soup a day or two after Thanksgiving.

We do seafood, too! And usually I make a turkey pot pie (I use Ina Garten's chicken pot pie recipe and it's amazing).

We also try to have light things like caprese salad for lunch, or Asian food (something light, not heavy and spicy like Thai food. More like pho or Japanese food like nimono).

We try to make enough food so there are enough leftovers to have the same meal on Friday. Then hoping to have enough turkey to turn into another meal for Saturday - soup, pot pie, pasta.

Definitely let yourself off the TG hook and have something like fish or shrimp. It'll renew your tastebuds for the leftovers. I've done pizza on Sat/Fri in the past as well.

Ok. A caprese salad in NOVEMBER is ridiculous.

It's every man for himself on Friday. Sat I will take whatever remains and break it down. We get some slices for sandwiches, enough for a turkey salad, and meat for a turkey pot pie on Sunday. Then I make stock from the carcass for the pot pie plus soup.

Anyone who complains about being tired of turkey gets extra helpings.

On Friday I'm still all about leftovers. By Saturday night I need something different and like a PP said usually do a soup and grilled cheese. Ina Garten has a recipe for tomato soup with orzo that I saw in her new cookbook and might try this year. We don't really tolerate the repurposed turkey dishes that well. We like turkey with the Thanksgiving meal and on some sandwiches but nobody would touch turkey tetrazzini/enchiladas/soup.

Turkey tetrazzini, turkey sandwiches, turkey stew.

Aside from leftovers, which accounts for 90% of the eating Friday and Saturday, we will order pizza Friday as per our usual. I have veggie soup in the freezer that I will thaw for anyone who doesn't want leftovers.

I always fast the day after a heavy meal. that said, turkey stir fry. turkey tacos. turkey sloppy-joes.

We make a big pot of vegetable soup to have along with leftovers (turkey sandwiches, turkey tacos, etc.) to lighten things up on Friday. Saturday is a pretty casual non- turkey meal (pulled pork sandwiches this year by request of those returning home from college for the holiday).
