I realize the page numbers on a forum start out at "1,2,3" then go "....(to much higher numbers) but is there a way to search pages say in the middle without having to click through all of them one by one? It seems that when searching for a topic you can type in a certain page number but that only seems to work for pages within the search, not for a forum itself.
Hope I'm being clear here. |
Sorry, but I really don't understand what you are asking. I get that you are asking about pages that don't have a page number in the navigation (no box with a number that you can click), but I don't know what you mean by searching there. Are you asking if you can search for, let's say "diaper" on pages 6-8 of a 15 page thread?

" I get that you are asking about pages that don't have a page number in the navigation (no box with a number that you can click)"
OP here. Yes, that's what I meant, not pages within threads themselves. If say I wanted to get to page 30 on a forum for example, is there a way to do so without having to click on everyone after 3? |
Ooh! I think I get what OP is asking. OP, are you saying, for example, how do I get to page number #100 of threads on the general parenting forum, for example?
I figured this out a while ago when I had a lot of free time and wanted to read far back in a certain forum. I'm going to use the general parenting forum as an example. Go to page 2 of whatever forum you are trying to look in. For general parenting the web address is http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/forums/show/25/2.page That '25' near the end means you are 25 threads back. Each page has 25 threads on it. Replace that 25 with any number that is a multiple of 25, and it will take you further back. So for example, typing in 2500 (http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/forums/show/2500/2.page) will take you to page 101 and 10000 will take you to page 401. Just edit the page address in your browser's address bar and then hit enter. It's not exact but it works! |
Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Thank you! |
Thanks for the help previous poster who replied. That would have been my answer as well. There used to me a box to enter a page number and click "go" but I removed it. If there is lots of interest in it, I can look into replacing it. |
