| What do you plan on eating/serving? |
| I so want to just have pizza and call it a day. Watch movies with the kids and relax. |
| We're having steak. We gave up on traditional turkey about five years ago and had been doing broiled chicken, dark meat only, but this year decided to heck with poultry. |

When my MIL visits for Thanksgiving, we host a non-traditional meal of broth fondue. I make a nice vegetable broth and we serve beef, chicken, salmon, shrimp and several types of veggies, get a dozen or so sauces and everyone picks and cooks their own meals. The broth that is left at the end is so flavorful. I take it and make some pasta and add it to the broth and Black Friday lunch is noodle soup. I cook leftover meats and veggies and add to the soup.
My wife remembers when they used to do this as a kid and so we do it whenever her mother comes for Thanksgiving, which is once every 2-3 years (the in between years, she comes at other times). |
| We never eat enough Turkey, so we just get a Turkey breast. Bonus: It takes less than an hour to cook. |
|
I have upped the status of pumpkin pie to main course, for myself. It's basically replacing mashed potatoes.
We are also doing a turkey breast because we're just staying home (two adults and a 5 year old) and I feel that making a whole turkey is not a great use of my time. |
| We had our nuclear family non-traditional Thanksgiving at a restaurant last week and had seafood. This week, we are having "real" Thanksgiving with extended family. |
| My husband and I are ordering pizza or thai. |
