Summer camp in Montgomery County for almost 3yr old

Anonymous
Hello,

My daughter is turning 3 in June and is potty trained. She is at the Barrie school now but I am looking for a summer camp for her, as she is not old enough for Barrie camp. We were thinking of the Norbeck Montessori Camp. If you have any feed back regarding this program please let me know. If you have any other ideas/leads please send them my way!

TIA

Anjana

We are thinking of sending our 5 year old daughter to Norbeck Montessori for summer camp, and also would like feedback about anyone else's experiences there. Thanks!

Hi,
I can't comment on Norbeck, but I can suggest you check out CLC in Rockville. My son goes to preschool there, and this will be his second summer at CLC camp. He loves it there. They have an open door policy, so you can drop by anytime for a visit.
The classrooms are nice and big, (organized and uncluttered) the outdoor areas are great, and they have a multipurpose room for indoor play if it is rainy. He came home with a lot of art projects throughout the summer, and they had many "extra" programs--magic, puppet show, stuff like that. I think it is well run. they are also flexible on times, sessions, etc.

Does your child need to be potty trained to attend the summer camp?

I think there are some places that want them to be potty trained by three, others don't mind if they are not. I would say call and ask with the place you are interested in.
I was the one who posted about CLC--so I can tell you that they do not require potty training.

We sent our DC to Silver Spring Learning Center's summer program. She loved it. They had ballet, cooking classes, etc. I highly recommend it.

Sidwell's Child Development Center has a small summer program for students under 3 1/2 on their Lower School Campus in Bethesda. Participants can sign up by the week for a full day or morning only program. Different themes, fun activities, and a great campus - e-mail summer@sidwell.edu for more information.

Little Feet Child Development Center in Silver Spring has a Summer Program for 3 year olds. I'm not sure what the potty training rule is. They offer lunch, academic enrichment, and two field trips a week.
