I have a question about the JJ Cole Bundle Me inserts for car seats. I am due in 3 three weeks and have a headrest insert for our car seat. Can I use that with a Bundle Me insert? It looks like the Bundle Me insert covers the back of the carseat too. In other words, do I have to pick one or the other? Do I need the Bundle Me insert or can I just use a fleece blanket? I realize I'm splitting hairs here, I just want to make sure I have this figured out. Thanks in advance for any help!
I never had the bundle me for my daughter when she was tiny, I always just used blankets ( my baby was born last March) and we were fine. When they are quite small they don't really kick the blankets off. Now that she is bigger I am using the bundle me because she throws the blankets out of the carseat and stroller. Good luck!
Put the head rest over the bundle me.
The carseat tech at Children's Hospital told us we should NOT use the Bundleme insert, actually she made us remove it from the seat while we were in her presence. The headrest is ok as long as you check very carefully that no straps are twisted. We just used blankets over the straps and the boot that came with the car seat. It was freezing a$$ cold last Jan-Feb when ds was a newborn but he was fine.

I am due in 1.5 weeks and went yesterday for the car seat safety check. I had the JJ Cole Bundle seat thingy and the police officer told me to get rid of it. He said that with the added cushioning/padding it makes it unsafe for the baby. He also said that the car seats are not crash tested or approved with those things, he also mentioned that even though a lot of those companies say that they meet all federal safety standards...but that there aren't any so it's just a bunch of crap. So...much to my dismay my husband and I went today to Buy Buy Baby to purchase the Cozy Up by Kiddopatumus - it's essentially the same sort of thing although it only goes OVER the car seat. So there isn't any padding behind baby. Plus it's about 1/2 the cost of the Bundle me.

I am the original poster--thanks so much for all of the info, it is very helpful. I guess the bottom line is that we shouldn't have any sort of cushioning or insert between the baby and the car seat. Thanks again for the info.
