Let's talk Thanksgiving wine

What are you serving this year? What are you taking to the relatives? What are you drinking yourself after you're home and they're all gone?

(Beer, cider, and spirits drinkers can play too.)

chardonnay (all the way!)

Last year I took a thought-out mixed case of wine to the inlaws' big bash, and everyone spent the day and evening drinking Scotch except for a couple of cabernet drinkers.

This year I'm taking two bottles of Cabernet.

I might pick up a white too, but I'm getting a Beaujolais for me.

Actually, scratch that. My dad's coming this year. I'm gonna ask him to bring me a few bottles from the local winery back home.

Oh, get the Beaujolais too! Always fun to have something not too serious. The more the merrier.

(I'm assuming you mean the Beajolais nouveau. If you like serious Beaujolais, I've heard Moulin a Vent is really good. Though Brouilly is lighter and more diversely food-friendly.)

I'll be sipping a Sauvignon blanc as usual.

Malbec

Always some beaujolais nouveau while we wait for dinner. I don't even like it, it's just what we do. Cab and Chardonnay at dinner. Scotch after dinner for those who haven't had enough.

Pinot noir and cab

whatever will get me through the holiday with my family...
Anonymous
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, possibly a lighter bodied Malbec or Merlot.

Please rec a Chardonnay without all the heavy oak. When I drink some Chard. that's all I can taste.

Also can anyone recommend a nice Pouilly Fuse?

Oh wow I want to thanksgiving with your families! In laws bring out the white zin franzia. And I only get two glasses...
Anonymous
Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc
Couple of different types of Merlot we either had in Argentina or brought back.

DH and my dad will likely have a scotch and whiskey during football/appetizer time and my mom and I will have dirty martinis.

My brother doesn't drink and will have diet coke.

The above is what we always drink, we are creatures of habit with the alcohol we like.
