will i look silly with bangs?

hello:

i am 34, wohm. i have fine, wavy hair and i don't like the way the front of my hair and my hairline look. because my hair is so fine, the pieces that hang close to my face look stringy and limp. my hairline just looks blah--thin hair, frizzes a little etc.

i was thinking that bangs might spruce things up a bit and make that entire area look healthier.

but will i look like a loser who is trying to hard to look cool? don't want that. i know i am neither 23 nor kim kardashian.

I have bangs and feel weird without them. I curl them in the morning with a huge curling iron, but my hair is so fine that the curl doesn't stay, it just kind of makes them look neater and go all the same direction, with a slight curve. Just don't cut your bangs too short! Bangs can be chic...just check out some hair magazines.

I also have fine wavy hair. To give it body, I scrunch it to death after I come out of the shower, then put it up in a loose ponytail to dry slowly overnight. This makes perfect non-frizzy waves in the morning and gives it some boost at the roots from drying in the ponytail. I spray Fructis wave booster on it and then do my bangs.

bangs are cool. just make sure you blow dry them after washing even if you don't blow dry the rest of your hair or they will look limp, wvy, and stuck to your head.

If you watched the Real Housewives of Orange County last night (yes, I'm a total loser), Jo came back with bangs, and looked ridiculous. "You look 12!" said one of the other women, and she was right.

I have wispy bangs that help break-up my largish forehead and I have received a lot of compliment. They definitely don't look like the straight line cuts that little kids usually get.

Do long bangs, sweep to one side. You can always blend them into the rest of your hair if you don't like them or pull them pack in a headband. But if you're going out you can blowdry with a large round brush and give your 'do a more modern look.
