I have a sinus infection (not contagious) and am about to start antibiotics tonight, but I'm still coughing a LOT. I have to fly to FL tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Am I going to get grief or trouble from security or anyone else when I get to the airport, assuming I'm still coughing a lot? I can see if I can get a note form my doc if that would help. Just don't know what symptoms are currently triggering added screening.
I happen to be coughing a lot at the moment - uncontrollably so - and they gave me a mask in the doctor's waiting room. Get one and wear it in the airport and on the plane.
I know it's not your fault, but I find it annoying as heck when people are caughing and sneezing on the plane or in tight quarters
Just explain that coughing is not a symptom of Ebola.
Try a cough suppressant?
You can buy masks at cvs. And drink lots of water. And cough drops. And try to hold it in.
Yes, for the peace of mind of your fellow passengers, please wear a mask, and use a cough suppressant. YOU may know you are not contagious, but those around you do not.
And you are contagious if you are spewing bodily fluids through your cough...or touching things.
I would definitely use a cough suppressant, and why not bring a note from your doctor? May ease your mind as well as others.
Good advice. Even without the scares, coughing can cause knee-jerk irritation on a plane! Good luck. |
I think as long as your are not coming from Africa, you will not get any special screening.
Can your Dr give you some cough medicine with codeine to suppress the cough? At the very least get some otc stuff, might help the cough and make you feel better too.
THIS. Get a cough suppressant before flying. It's annoying as hell to hear someone coughing all the time. You can control it. |
Delsym, mask, and sunglasses.
sunglasses?
