My 14 and 13 year old nephew and niece are visiting from NYC the day after Thanksgiving. They've been here many times so we've done the usual suspects. |
Zoo lights?
Udvar Hazy? Why not just go to a movie- so many good ones coming out. |
Go to a ropes course? There is adventure park in Sandy Spring Maryland as well as it go ape in Germantown or Gaithersburg |
How about the National Geographic museum? I take the kids to all of they're exhibits, which are usually really good. It's on Global Food now, and you can get a coupon on the bottom of a Whole Foods receipt. |
Monuments at night. |
Smithsonian Native American Indian? bonus that there is a cafe with cool foods. speaking of cool foods, you could take them out for ethiopian food in adams morgan. the US Mint? |

This looks intriguing. |
This was my first thought too!! Sandy Spring Adventure Park is fabulous!! |
National museum of medicine at Walter Reed in Silver Spring. Lots of gnarly stuff there that a teenage boy, at least, would like. |
Is this still at the Walter Reed site or did it move along with everything else? |
Go to iPic or ArcLight in Bethesda. Go horseback riding in Middleburg. Take a cooking class @ Le Acad de Cuisine. Go to an Xmas tree farm. Pinstripes in Georgetown. Trampoline park and raceway in Columbia if you're willing to make the drive... |
Trampoline park in Springfield VA too. |
Is there a ropes course in VA? |
Earthtreks in Rockville. |
Lots of good ideas so far.
Maybe try Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. It's a vey unique place. |
